The city of Rome is full of soldiers and survivors fleeing Enniashe. The streets are packed, smelly, and rife with fear and apprehension.
Players may RP freely here, but certain actions may result in DM intervention or even an impromptu game!
It was sometime during night. Well. Real night by the actual clock since the sky was now dark. Most of the civilians were starting to return to their homes as curfew would start somewhat soon. Convoys of military vehicles like PUMA IFVs, massive box like troop carriers with a monsterous auto-loaders, or super-heavy tanks like the Challenger III rumbled down the streets of Rome in either a patrol or a transfer to other parts of it.
Church Knights could also be seen quietly in corners, in robes and with halberds. It seemed odd that soldiers with tactical equipment were standing guard close by Knights that looked like they came from the Dark Ages. It was also noted that some of the NATO soldiers carried black keys, either to their waist or strapped to their weapons like bayonets.
@[11]Arran [5]SkyeSuddenly a shoulder would slam into the back of Arran. Normally this would have gone amiss if not the figure passing him was easily an entire head taller them him and wearing strange nearly victorian style garb with a tricorn of all things.
"Watch your path in places you do not belong, foreigner," Arran heard her whisper into his ear as she began to speed through the crowd, crushing aside and drifting through the crowd like it was nothing for a very driven purpose.
He would manage to cut just a glimpse of her pale face.
(edited)He had not been pickpocketed by her he could tell as he watched her part through the crowd, but behind her suddenly a small contingent of Knights with halberds followed quickly with even a few men in cassocks and cloaks.
@[11]Arran [5]SkyeThey seemed to be converging on a single building to the side he could see. The Knights climbing the walls while Executors silently entered through side doors.
Arran would see that the Knights were converging on the two-story building using ladders to climb onto the roof. In their heavy armour some of them struggle to and a few tiles dropped off. They seemed to surround the building but Arran would spot an entrance that seemed to have been a door in the side of the building that wasn't covered.
Because he had seen her go through that entrance. There was a few windows at ground levels but each main door into the building, one on each side, was covered by a hooded man in a cassock.
There was a clock tower nearby that he judged could be high enough to look into the roof of the building.
@[11]Arran [5]SkyeThe Knight quickly scrambled to his feet, his face red and hoping nobody saw and picked up his halberd. “Thank you civilian, but you should make yourself scarce. This is a private affair.”
@[11]Arran [5]Skye”A-a-atlas?” The man sounded surprised one would come so blatantly. The church did have decent relations with that branch of the association that one of their members would not be met with immediate revulsion. Unpleasant looks and outright hostility from the more fanatical and puritans though weren’t out the question. “And who might you be then?”
"Don't you tell me how to do my job," the man said flustered at Arran. "If there's one thing we don't need help from you heretics it's to purify the worst of your kind."
@[11]Arran [5]Skye"I told you not to tell me what to do." The man held his halberd up, swinging the tip slightly in Arran's face. "We'll handle this bastard, thought he could get away with penetrating the Holy See." the man boasted. "Slippery but we cornered the teleporting bastard and there's no way out now. Probably one of those Chaldea idiots who think they can get away with everything just because we happen to have the same intrest. Now get going before you're next on the list."
@[11]Arran [5]SkyeThe man frowned slightly at Arran's words as they flowed over him and a dozen micro-reactions for a split-second flashed across his face, a blood vessel even appearing across his forehead, before he relaxed suddenly. "C-chaldean bastard we think. Tried to teleport right into our barriers. Casted witchcraft right in the middle of the city. We along with 'Scythe' and executor were deployed to execute the filthy heretic on the spot."
Then the man blinked in confusion to what he just said.
@[11]Arran [5]Skye (edited)He sneered at Arran. "Get going. I'll take your message and if you're lucky we'll consider it."
Shaking his head he began to walk along the roof away.
Arran would follow the Knight along the rooftop until he reached a courtyard below, surrounded by cloisters. The Knights were silently perched on the rooftops watching the conversation below like feral hounds barely held back in check, hand gripped tight around their weapons so tight and eager that their knuckles were turning white. There were eight of them Arran could count, two of them on each side.
There was some sort of conversation going down below but it was muffled by the sounds of bustling Rome and the ringing clocktower. He couldn't reasonably get closer than ten feet from the ledge into the courtyard from the shadows as it was in plain view at that point.
@[11]Arran [5]SkyeSuddenly he could now see the scene below in the courtyard as three figures walked into the open.
@[11]Arran [5]Skye
#deleted-channelAs Arran watched suddenly he would sense a figure would fall from the sky, slamming onto the roof tiles just fifteen feet behind him in a cloud of dust as it rose from a kneeling position, twitching and spasming subtly.
It wore heavy armour with a red cape that flowed behind in. It one-handed a massive greatsword while in its off-hand it held a dueling dagger.
"Your request of audience with one of rank has been granted," it spoke it a strange voice that didn't betray its gender, rather a voice that seemed hollow and echoing from within that grilled mask.
Arran would find that there were a few maps pinned on the street boards, old and yellowed meant mainly for tourists. But he'd find a map that showed the way to either the Mario De Bernardi Military Airport just on the outskirts or the Italian Air Force Headquarters just in the downtown actually not an awfully long walk from where he was. Ten minutes at most.
@[11]Arran [5]SkyePlanes whined as they began to taxi down the runway. Planes ranging from Eurofighters to F-22s to even the advanced F-35s stood at ready to take off within a minute's notice. At the edge of the fence Arran would notice a few planes that didn't fit with the designs of the NATO-alinged nations.
Five aircraft with orange-wingtips. SU-30s. Odd for Russian Planes to be here.
The main gate to the airbase was guarded by an Puma IFV and several soldiers around a small pillbox with a searchlight.
Arran would see on the airfield at the end of it there was a main building underneath the control tower that seemed to be the control and command center of the entire base given the extreme amount of radar dishes and communications towers that sprung up from it. He would see that out of the building in the dark was a man in a nearly black uniform with golden epaulettes on his shoulders and a peaked cap make for one of the oranged-tipped aircraft Arran had seen earlier.
Upon closer inspection these aircraft were at the very edge of the airfield right by the wire fencing in open hangers.
@[11]Arran [5]SkyeAnd his bird in the distance would notice a convoy moving through a lonely street in the countryside, searchlights blaring as they advanced in the dark. There was a chance it might come close to where he was.
@[11]Arran [5]Skye
Mario De Bernardi Military Airport is the largest usable airbase in the Rome area bolstering several squadrons of advanced prototype aircraft that took off and landed at a blistering space. It sported a large array of massive hangers that housed B-52, massive cargo planes, and two AN-225 transport place, absoulte beheamoths that could carry entire divisions into battle and travel twice around the globe withouth refulling.
A razor wire surrounds the airbase and at the main gate a Leopard 2A7 tank stands guard alongside several pillboxes with rocket launchers and machine guns pointed down the road.
There is blistering acvitivy througout the entire airbase. Aircraft are taking to the skies almost constantly and landing on the airstrop. Many of the returning planes are clearly battle damaged.
Several have iron spikes sticking out of the fuselage.
(edited)The soldier at the checkpoint looked up from the porno mag he was reading rather openly. He was in his mid-twenties with a pale and shallow deamonor.
"Never heard of Blanca Co. That a makeup company?" he shook his head barely taking his eyes off the book, "The hell you want with the Archangel?"
Meanwhile the others soldiers were looking at the two, preplexed by their non-uniform apperance.
@Baka | Olga, Theisoa @Pot | LilithHe sighed and put away the magazine, standing up. "Yeah yeah fancy tech for fancy smhucks that I don't think I can even afford with a years commission. And so what if you know his callsign, if you have a ham radio you'd probally hear him. He's busy enough that I'm not going to bother him with a trio of wierdos that I've never laid eyes on just strolling up to base and asking basically 'hey I know you're on war footing so can I go in to see the Supreme Air Commander with no credentials at all?"
"Don't get me wrong, you sound like nice folks," he jutted a pen in the direction of Touko, "But I ain't risking my skin for something so benial as this."
@Pot | Lilith @sumanai @Baka | Olga, Theisoa He frowned and leaned forward , “Sol Squadon? That’s them for sure I’d know a mig from anything. Old as shit it looks like. Almost out of a history book, where the hell did you get this?”
He tapped his foot, "Damn. Gotta tell me some of those stories. Everyone says the Archangels shut up like a clam unless your a pilot."
"Well if you know him I can't stop you," He gestured for the gate to open up, "He should have returned from a sortie just now. Hanger B7R, just at the edge. I can arrange a jeep to bring it there. That ladies here probally don't want to soil their dresses with all the blood and muck we're dealing with now."
@Baka | Olga, Theisoa @sumanai @Pot | LilithThe jeep would take the three of them to the hanger. Along the way more planes landed and one even landed right next to them lacking an entire wing, having returned home on thrust alone, as they navigated the maze of landing planes. Eventually the jeep would stop at a hanger at the edge.
A Sukhoi SU-30SM sat in the middle and a man in a dark flightsuit was grunting as he was removing a massive iron spike that had impaled its wings.

There would be a sudden buzz at the doorbell in the dead of night.
On the silent streets below there was the sound of two, maybe three cars pulling up.
(edited)At the door were two individuals in military uniform. One was a woman with a serious look on her face with tidy braided up hair and a clipboard under her shoulder. Alongside her was a man dressed in a grey tunic with a peaked cap with a more relaxed look.
"Are you Mr Chris Heinrich?" she asked in a monotone voice.

He was in a uniform of the Bundeswehr while she was in an Italian Army uniform.
"You're not him?" the man said.

Suddenly a hand interposed between the door and the frame, holding it open, the woman officer. He would notice that both the officers had their nameplates removed.
"This is his address. You fit the description. Don't try it." she said. "We just need your assistance in an investigation."

"Calm down" the man raised his open palms up with a casual smile on his face, "If we did think you were responsible we would have kicked the door down and gone in guns blazing. But we didn't."
He rubbed the back of his head
"The reason we're calling in the dead of night is that something came up regarding Chaldea and you're the first member we can find with a registered address."
"Give it," he said.
"Two of your own murdered our Supreme Commander." she said coldly, "After all he did to save their lives they killed him in Milan, brutalized his body like he was an animal."
"We want answers," the man said.
(edited)"We don't want to make a big deal out of this. And besides given what happened you can guess that our lack of trust in your organization is now lacking." he said.
"Somehow we doubt that too." he looked over Chris' shoulder into the apartment, "You're correct that we can't really trust what you say. But it's better than hearing from the rat's mouth of your director. And like I said, you're the first on our list who has an registered address. We just need you to come down to the base and name some names. After that, everything will be cleared up."

The woman took a step into the apartment, trying to put herself between the door and the frame. "You'll be provided a cassock and any other wears there. It's best we go now. They've already begun to move and it won't be safe here any longer."
She was lying about something.

The man shrugged, "Well consider the fact we're perfectly aware of your record and your abilities Mr. Heinrich. And consider the fact only we came to pick you up. Listen, we don't want trouble. We just need you to come to a secure location where you'll be safe. We just want answers to a murder to a war hero."

"If you are uncomfortable with changing, don't worry, she's seen everything," the man chuckled as he settled himself into a nearby seat. "Nice man-cave, not the best one I've seen but not the worst. You paid for this place?"

His eyebrow twitched as he looked Heinrich straight ahead, "If not for us, Rome would now be overrun. I was just trying to make small-talk."
"And I've had my fair share of dealing with lacking men, so do not concern yourself."
@Orphelia/Naomi/Artoria
As Artoria walked up the street she would notice that three black jeeps with tinted windows was parked outside the apartment. Normally it would have been maybe overlooked if not for the fact she saw in the reflection of the rearmost car's sidewindow to her that there was a figure clad in black on the rooftop just behind her.

In the hallway just outside the entrance as a man in a security guard's coat was laying on the ground, slumped against the wall with a bottle in his hand. A cap was drawn over his face.

Suddenly the man stopped and cocked his head, as if he was listening to something. "We're having trouble with one of the cars downstairs. We'll have to wait here for a minute or two."
@Orphelia/Naomi/ArtoriaArtoria would notice that the carpet underneath the man was notable darker then the rest. And the there was something wet running down his neck.
He wasn't snoring.
(edited)There was something large and lumpy underneath the woman's coat.
Disturbingly it seemed the man wasn't using any weapons at all and his fists had black gloves on.
They were in the hallway right by his door. The nearest window was about ten feet away in his apartment that fell out onto the facade of the building and in the hallway twenty feet to the right was another window that overlooked the alley behind the apartment.
@Orphelia/Naomi/ArtoriaLifting the cap off the man Artoria would find there was a small little hole in his forehead no bigger then a penny.

Suddenly the man stepped aside both strikes by the blade, moving with unnatural speed. His breath was still steady and disciplined.
"I guess I could take you in half-alive."
@Orphelia/Naomi/Artoria"Worse."
A fist would barely pass by Chris' head, enough force to shatter his skull in a single strike and with such speed in left an after-image.
"Not bad. Two of you. Mystic Code?"
It was an eastern fighting style with the measured way the man had struck. Calm and collected despite his violent move, the entire time his breathing was steady.

A bit battered but spitting out a wad of blood it's clear he's ready for more.
"Let's say I'm kind, all we need is some answers to questions." he wiped the blood from his nose, "And a few names to a picture. This was all fun and all but I have a time table that I owe my client."

"About 1.5 Million just for you, with extra if we managed to make you talk."
"Dammit!" she said as she was slammed against the wall, bloody and battered.
He reached into his coat and pulled out a picture, "How about naming these two? That's all we need."
"Again, we just want to clear this entire incident with them. And maybe if we do know who they are we can prevent a full-blown war."

"We were literally going to kill these idiots afterwards," she sneered At Lancer.
"John," she said simply, "Please do let me go."
"Understood, gotta clean out some loose ends," she raised her weapon and gunned down two of the soldiers with her suppressed rifle.
"We're a bit restrained when we have to take you folks in alive while limiting the exposure of mystery." she said to Artoria.

@Orphelia/Naomi/ArtoriaA fairly short olive-skinned man in a dark grey hoodie drawn up over his head and sunglasses that covered his eyes stood outside, looking up at the woman quite a bit taller then her.

"Alright. Normally I'd ask you to sign something but he told me not to," he shrugged, "Well I gotta pick up my payment in his car down at the docks. Said he'd throw in something special."
With that he left.
Something inside the package vibrated.
It was a large metal pipe.
It just kept vibrating but didn't blow up or anything.
"Come on pick it up already," came a whiny muffled voice. "It's inside the tube, it's a faraday cage."
(edited)"Your boyfriend, Joseph," came the sarcastic voice, "I had to take precautions since at this point they'll be watching all of us. So what's this about you wanting to tell my employers the information yourself? Hate to tell it to you kid, might be hard given your allegiance."

I suggest we evacuate.
I have no reason to attack, however they are acting suspicious at best.
Almost on cue there was the sound of footsteps outside the door.
For what seemed like the dozenth time this day there was a knock at the door.
Despite his best attempts to hide it, Chris would notice that the edge of Mihaly's lips twitched when Vee acknowledged that the war would be prologned with the destruction of the church.
@Orphelia/Naomi/Artoria"Lytus. Can you do me a favor..? Could you check outside for Enemies? J-Just in case. He wouldn't come here alone."
As you wish, Master.
Without a word to the old man, Hippolytus disappeared again and moved past him in spirit form.Perception Check.
There were several helicopters circuling in the distance as well as a busy street nearby with a military convoy passing through as well as several fighters streaking overhead. None of them seemed to be aimed at the apartment.
@RJ|Sir L/Lytus/Dude/Wolf/-/-There's a lot of possible backup, though we do not seem to be a focus...
Nevertheless, if this conversation goes too south, we could be in danger. Several aerial and ground vehicles are making their way through, in addition to troops on the streets outside. Is there a back exit?
"I don't know! Er, Berserker started shooting. Please keep us updated on their movements."
Understood. I will remain in spirit form until it is time for me to join the fray.

Vee. Perhaps you can get a guarantee that he shall no more prolong this war.
Master, will you be all right if I approach this differently?
He doesn't have to walk free. Nor does he have to die.
"..Yeah. If you have a plan, please go ahead."
Can you knock him unconscious?
I have an escape route for us. And if need be... I will face Lancer in yours and the Nurse's stead.
The north window.
Through the corridor.

At that very moment Vee would see that the helicopter wasn't aimed at firing into the apartment.
Rather it was pointing its wheels towards the windows, looking very grabbable.
In the back alley, there is an entrance to the sewers.
It was now plain to her that the helicopter had been Mihaly's escape plan.

This Girl is crying. The pilots of the helicopter didn't fire.
They just flew away.
They had enough of this humanity.
Behind would be left the cursed pistol on the floor of which necrotic energies danced around.
The pistol that Nightingale had took.
(edited)Vee. What is this strange weapon Nightingale possessed?
Artoria would suddenly find herself unable to part from the weapon.
@[unintelligible sub noises]She noticed that a civilian was snapping pictures in their direction, trying to disguise it as his camera taking a photo of a nearby building facade.
The letter would indicate he was now being promoted to the Burial Agency and would serve as Ciel partner.
The old industrial was one that was littered with warehouses and shipping containers now left dead as the economy had ground to a halt due to the forest. The entire area was dark and decrepit with toxic black mold growing over everything. And some bright spark had left some nuclear waste from the plants just lying there in now rapidly rusting barrels.
There was a reason nobody came here.
The men that had been following them suddenly stopped at the edge of the industrial sector, which wasn't more then a few blocks at the edge of the city, not seeming to follow any further. Ciel saw several of them pull out hidden radios or disguising phone calls as casually conversation.
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/AzuIn the distance Ciel could hear the squeal of wheels and tracks as well as the distant sound of helicopter blades.
Several of the following agents drew weapons hidden such as pistols and submachine guns before taking defensive positions at the edge of the industrial sector.
Where exactly would they fall back to?
Getting away from civilians and nuclear waste.
Just stay on the streets?
I am trying to get more then a mile away from the city now.
Trying to exit from the industrial area Ciel and Chris would find that already armoured cars and APCs were on the streets in patrol, sweeping their surroundings with searchlights.
2
◉◉〇Ciel and Chris would slip by the patrol easily with the fact that most of the soldiers were having a hard time seeing in the dark area.
Above void-black helicopters began to land in the industrial zone behind them.
If Ciel and Chris wanted to get a mile outside the city they'd need to leave the industrial area and enter the suburbs before emerging out onto open land.
A helicopter shot overhead past them.
"Fugitives, lay down your weapons and surrender or we will use lethal force."
A voice blared from the speakers.
It seemed a general annoucement over the area as it seemed the Industrial area was being rapidly cleared.
Now Ciel and Chris had entered the suburbs, there were only a few people out in the late of night mostly staring up at the commotion now happening over at the Industrial Area.
"The hell is going on over there?" the two would hear one of the residents shout from the window.
Suddenly on their earpieces both Ciel and Chris would intercept a transmission on the broad-band.
"They're not in the industrial sector, all units Genoa Command has instructed the search pattern be widened."
At the edge of the suburbs was a stretch of open marshland with long wet grass and then a highway some quarter a kilometer away that cut right through it like a great wall before Ciel and Chris. For most of its visible length, it was set on a raised causeway. Though partly obscured by the fog, vehicles and figures could be seen along this causeway. Soldiers. Transports. They had a tight grip on the roadway.
Behind them helicopters were beginning to shine their spotlights on the suburbs while the distant bark of attack dogs sounded.
Are their any civilians there or nearby?
There are no civilians at the edge of the marshland.
Almost at once half a dozen searchlights would focus on the the two.
As well as two dozen tank cannons.
Two attack helicopters rising from behind the highway.
And a good hundred or so gun barrels and assorted weapons.
"Lay down your weapons and put your hand on your heads!"
"The hell?" the voice came over the speaker was somewhat worried by the sight, "Uh, it's going to take a bit more then a few fancy flares than that whatever the hell that is. You got an entire battalion of guns aimed right at you. That's several hundred men against just two of you."
"You are surrounded!"
It was also clear they didn't know what a Burial Agency or Ciel was.
"Gah, what the hell?" the speaker said, "You really are one of those Church freaks!"
"You wouldn't dare destroy this entire local area. I'll tell you backwards fucks that detonating a atomic bomb at the edge of Rome itself isn't the best idea."
There was a long moment of silence before the speaker said again.
"Alright, both of us agree to lower our weapons at the same time. Simple enough."
There was a a great caution in his voice but he seemed more focus'd on not blowing up.
The gun barrels lowered and the soldiers did the same with their rifles. The helicopters kept hovering but didn't make any further moves.
"So now what?" the voice came back.
"Do you intend to launch any attack against NATO or our operations fighting the forest?"
"Then why did you assassinate the Supreme Commander? By all means that's a pretty good prelude of a full-blown war, cut off the head first."
@[unintelligible sub noises] @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu @Orphelia/Naomi/Artoria (edited)"Listen..." there was a pause. "As far as we know one of yours murdered the Commander and I can act only under the presumption that you have every reason to lie. I ain't got any reason to believe that the Commander tried to destroy the church..."
"And if he was a Dead Apostle like I suspect, he was fighting for our sakes and saved us from utter destruction at Vlad. I've heard that not all of them... well... want to wipe us out."
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu @Orphelia/Naomi/Artoria @[unintelligible sub noises] (edited)"Who's that?" the voice was suddenly surprised at Artoria, "Whoever you are, lay down your weapons like the rest."
"Identify yourself at once or we will open fire!" the voice shouted. "You're one of those Servants aren't you? Don't need a weapon to be dangerous."
"I got that," the man said, "What do you even mean by an inside man?"
"That may be the truth. But as I said he was a hero to us." he continued, "Those weapons were losses I'm sure. We lost a lot of men in the early days to the forest... but shit... you're right they did grow in strength."
"There's discrepancies but that won't convince everyone he was an outright traitor."
@[unintelligible sub noises] @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu @Orphelia/Naomi/ArtoriaAnother moment of silence.
"Damn it, you're right... but that still doesn't explain the Commander's death! He was a hero!" Chris could tell there was now uncertainty in his voice. "But we don't need a war... there's been enough already."
Ciel would hear jetwash in the distance.
@Orphelia/Naomi/Artoria @[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu @[unintelligible sub noises]"J-j-jets? I thought I called them off." the voice sounded uncertain and out of one of the APCs a man in an Officer's garb stepped out onto the roadway before them. "They should be..."
Ciel and Artoria would suddenly see, unnoticed to the soldiers and the Officer who were busy focusing on the trio, that a figure in a black uniform and a gas mask with red glasses was walking up to behind the speaking officer.
And raising a pistol.
"What the hell!?" the Officer shouted as he ducked under the barrage of Ciel's black keys. The figure in the mask sidestepped the whizzing objects even though Ciel attempt to stop him using magecraft.
But his shot was lost and he holstered his pistol, starting to fade back into the crowd.
"SHE ATTACKED FIRST!" someone screamed from the soldiers, "I SAW IT!"
"Jesus Christ stop! I repeat do not fire! Do not fire until I figure out what the hell is happening!" the man yelled. "Cameras? What the fuck are you saying."
Ciel, Chris, and Artoria caught glances of the black-ops soldier fading into the soldiers proper now.
The sound of jetwash was getting louder.
The soldiers turned to look in the direction only to see indeed a soldier in a black uniform with a gas mask. <<What are you looking at?>> said the synthesized voice coming from his respirator, <<Why the hell would you believe her? She attacked first.>>
"W-w-well we have recording devices of course b-but why the hell would we be filming anything other then you?" the officer sounded panicked and kept looking to the sky. "Someone bring that GIGN trooper here now."
Everyone could hear the jetwash now.
"What the hell is she saying?" one of the soldiers shouted.
<<Nonsense,>> the Black-Ops soldier spoke <<I've studied the Church. They and their members will only lie and use deception to trick you.>>
<<They're trying to distract you idiots!>> the GIGN soldier continued to speak, <<We have them outnumbered and you have your orders from Genoa. You are soldiers! Obey!>>
Chris would sense indeed the man in the mask was the only undead creature within 60 feet.
<<They aren't even trying to hide it,>> the GIGN soldier scoffed, <<Just fire already if he takes another step and be done with this. The Church and their filth is no better.>>
Several guns raised up but didn't fire.
"Jesus Christ hold fire!" the officer continued to shout.
The sound of the jets was now imminent.
<<If he takes another step open fire>> the GIGN soldier said, <<The fact he's coming towards us with god-knows what weapon is proof enough.>>
<<The GIGN answer only to High Command itself. We are the elite that ensure the safety of NATO and of humanity,>> he turned to the officer, <<You have your orders, eliminate this threat.>>
"Shit... shit... shit..." the commander gasped. "Fine! You, woman with the blue hair, Burial Agent whatever. I'm sending a soldier with handcuffs over. Drop every single weapon or whatever spell you have on the ground and come clean."
He would be charging over open ground against a line of guns.
And at that moment, a hundred rifles, a dozen tank cannons, and two attack gunships unleashed every single bit of ammunition they had at Chris.
(edited)"FIRE! FIRE! FIRE!" the soldiers collectively unleashed everything they had on the pair.
But even as Chris was riddled by hundreds of bullets.
It wasn't even close.
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu @Orphelia/Naomi/Artoria @[unintelligible sub noises]<<What the hell?>> even the GIGN soldier was shocked.
Suddenly the soldiers stopped firing, out of mostly fear that he had survived an entire Platoon of firepower and was still coming and of the fact they'd hit their own men.
Chris was amongst them, and now in front of the GIGN man.
"HE ISN'T HUMAN!" one of the soldiers screamed!
Despite the man's unnatural Strength, Chris in his rage would rip apart the mask from his head.
And a good chunk of the man's face with it.
Slowly it was plain to see to everyone as the GIGN's pale flesh underneath suddenly began to knot and knit themselves together as the Curse of Restoration worked.
"You're not human..." the man muttered with venom in his voice as he stared down Chris.
The soldiers were silent. Staring only at Chris and the GIGN man with fear. None of them seemed to want to make the move.
"What does it matter I'm a Dead Apostle?" he hissed, "I've fought alongside you men this entire time. Just because of my nature it doesn't prevent me from serving humanity. Not all of us fell to the influence of the forest."
Before any of them could react the GIGN man spoke again, "So what if that matters fellow soldiers? We fought beside you against the forces of Vlad and have guarded Genoa against the horrors of the forest. Alongside the Supreme Commander we turned to the side of humanity. Some of our equipment may have fallen and she has every reason to lie!"
He pointed at Chris, "And that thing there isn't even human. So why does it matter that I'm no longer one?"
The Commander said, "Blood-Sucking bastards... you need fresh blood don't you. Fresh human blood taken right from our viens. Who! Who was it?"
"I..." the commander began, utterly speechless to Artoria's words, "I've heard enough. Men, detain this member of the GIGN at once. He may have been once on our side... but I'm not sure anymore. Don't struggle, you're surrounded."
The Dead Apostle only sneered, cornered by men with guns at all angles he sneered at Chris and Artoria, "You humans are all the same. Weak pathetic creatures whose only worth is cattle! You don't even follow commands well!"
"Peel off we have friendlies in the area," the officer said, "Hey... are you hearing me I said peel off. Shit, they should be able to hear me."
The Dead Apostle how was getting pinned on the ground began to laugh manically out loud. "Cattle!"
The jets were seconds away as they began to run the length of the highway just barely a dozen meters off the ground.
(edited)Ciel would see under their wings there were cylindrical barrels.
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu (edited)"I don't know!" he shouted, "They aren't responding!"
"I don't know!" he shouted, "They aren't responding!"
"Fuck!" he stared up in horror as two black objects appeared on the night sky, streaking fire from their afterbuners, "It's an attack run!"
The jets charged right at her and the dragon.
It wasn't a dogfight.
It was a joust!
Master Veronique, … I suggest you move aside, I will strike down the plains before they arrive
“Men, stand back. I won’t say it twice” Arthur said as she would walk in the direction of the planes ahead her hand to the side as she would summon Rhongomyniad “Take cover, I do not know about the fallout, try not to get the way of pieces that fall from the planes” she’d instruct everyone wanting to unleash her noble phantasm unless stoppedIn an amazing manoeuvre suddenly Veronica would wrangle her dragon just at the last moment as the jet charged, at the perfect angle to be barely a feet away from the blacked-out cockpit.
And Hippolytus calling upon the very Gods themselves had the perfect shot on the other fighter as it charged him down.
@Vormal/Asstolfo/Morban/Sword/Cat @RJ|Sir L/Lytus/Dude/Wolf/-/-They would begin to run off for their vehciles and off the highway, but they wouldn't reach cover in time if Vee and Hoppolytus failed.
It was all on them now.
"What the hell?" the pilot inside would scream as a girl all of a sudden siezed him in mid-air.
Despite not knowing the controls really a mixture of guesswork and sheer luck enabled her to take full control. At least for the first few seconds.
The pilot unfortunately was thrown out as a result of the tackle but within the cockpit calling upon the Gods and the Throne of heroes Hippolytus found himself being able to seize perfect control too.
Master, do you see any safe spot to land one of these!?
The plane quickly ascends several hundred feet up with Starchaser keeping pace.
Up here she can see the distant lights of Rome. Even in the vast black of the surrounding there is humanity, struggling screaming in determination against the void that would swallow it whole. Within it the lives of so many who's only desire is to see the dawn at very last.
Within it is the collective hope of Humanity.
Master, do you see any safe spot to land one of these!?
Hippolytus would see an nearby NATO airfield. Or he could attempt in the wide marshes around the highway that were deserted.
Within the chaos Artoria would see that the DA had overpowered one of the men pinning him, spearing her through the throat with a dagger hidden up his boot, and he was now starting to run.
@[unintelligible sub noises]While taking it over was the easy part, landing it was a tad bit harder. Hippolytus must have pressed somthing bad because one of the engines died and it was now diving in a manner that could not be recovered.
The ground was now coming up at supersonic speeds.
@RJ|Sir L/Lytus/Dude/Wolf/-/-Veronica managed to escape the jet as in a breath of fire and suphur Starchaser vaporised the jet and the weapons it was carrying.

But had Hippolytus been in it?
@RJ|Sir L/Lytus/Dude/Wolf/-/- @Vormal/Asstolfo/Morban/Sword/CatWith Ciel's strike Artoria would soon catch up to the DA.
@[unintelligible sub noises]"Dammit," with that he threw his hands up. "This isn't over."
He was pinned beneath the two of them, "Keep telling yourselves that, heh."
There was still a grin on his face.
"That would ruin the surprise."
Veronica would manage to save the parachuting pilot at the same time.
@Vormal/Asstolfo/Morban/Sword/CatHis face went both pale in fear and pain. It was clear the GIGN soldier hadn't thought of that.
At the same time as they spoke a figure in a parachute and pilot's gear would land amongst them.
(edited)He was human.
"Look there's a slight chance you guys follow the geneva convention so I'm gonna invoke that," he said with his empty hands clear.
"So long as you don't violate my prison pocket like the Serbs did, I don't mind."
@Orphelia/Naomi/ArtoriaHe gritted his teeth, clearly trying to choose between submission and eternal torture. "Curse you...." he paused, "The former."
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu"Genoa Command. Told us there were hostiles here that we were to only maintain communication with Genoa only."
@Orphelia/Naomi/Artoria"Uh...." he went on, "We just got it from Genoa Command in general. That's where High Command set up recently."
@Orphelia/Naomi/Artoria"He gritted his teeth, "I can't."
@[Serpon]Teno/Penth/Nico/Azu"His second-in-command... forced a Geas on all of us when he took over..."
"Yup-a-doodles."
"The Via Garibaldi Palaces last I heard."
"I honestly don't know much more other then I was sent here to bomb this co-ordinates with my payload." he stopped, "Oh, and the rest of my squadron as well."
@Orphelia/Naomi/ArtoriaThe DA hissed at the sight of the weapon.
"Oh at least dress me up first," the voice in Artoria's head said, "It seems I have an admirer of my late owner."
@[unintelligible sub noises]"Didn't you hear? I am under a geas."
"I literally did you sorry fucking excuse for a Servant."
Suddenly there was the sound of further jetwash in the distance.
"Uh, can we move?" the pilot suddenly said, "I don't think I was the only pilot sent."
In the distance a dozen jets began to streak towards them on the horizon. Too many. Too fast.
"We will be." he nodded, "I'll ensure the rest of NATO hears this. They may not all be convinced of what happened here. But enough will."
